3D MODELING AND LASER SCANNING

Talk to us about your 3D Modeling and Laser Scanning requirements and find out how we can assist your business in saving time and money.

3D LASER SCANNING

Laser scanners collect surface data by repeatedly shooting a laser off an object's surface and plotting points into what is known as a point cloud. Reality capture is a broad term that encompasses all methods of capturing an existing environment, whether using laser scanners, cameras, crewless aerial vehicles (UAVs), or other means. LiDAR scanning can help you save both time and money. LiDAR systems are an excellent solution for capturing large amounts of asset data in a short period.

3D Laser scanning is a non-contact, non-destructive technology that uses a line of laser light to capture the shape of physical objects digitally. From the surface of an object, 3D laser scanners generate "point clouds" of data. In other words, 3D laser scanning is a technique for capturing a physical object's exact size and shape and transferring it to the computer as a digital 3-dimensional representation.

3D laser scanners measure fine details and capture free-form shapes to generate highly accurate point clouds. 3D laser scanning is ideal for measuring and inspecting contoured surfaces and complex geometries that require massive amounts of data for accurate description, whereas traditional measurement methods or a touch probe are impractical.

Lidar scanning can save you time and money.

Lidar systems are a good solution for a large amount of asset data that needs to be captured in a short time.

SCAN REGISTRATION

BenDi can provide scan registration services for clients who have little experience working with point clouds or limited resources. Our software supports formats including, but not limited to RCP, PTX and E57. We can also convert files from various scanners, including Leica and Faro Z&F. BenDi can handle any size project ranging from tiny houses to large mining operations.

We can provide point clouds in unified and decimated formats, such as single ASCII and text files with transformations. We have built robust and optimised systems for quality assurance in registration and control point adjustment as part of our registrations process.

SCAN TO BIM 3D/2D

AS-BUILDS

It scans a physical space or site with a 3D laser to create an accurate digital representation of it. The term can be used for design, progress assessment, and option evaluation.

Scan to BIM refers to using a laser scanner to capture an accurate 3D scan of the actual conditions on a project in real-time.

This scan data is then used in the 3D modelling environment to inform the BIM model about real-world conditions, assisting in creating the most accurate as-built model.

TUNNEL EXTRACTION

It is common in the surveying field to draw cross-sections on a Tunnel, road, or structure to inspect it while it is being built, or for periodic controls.

We have you covered whether the task is to monitor a structure for change over time or to compare it to a model. Our software inspects and compares clouds, meshes, surfaces, and polylines in 2D and 3D.

If a portion of your project necessitates inspection or comparison, you want a versatile professional service that is simple to use.

CONDITION ASSESSMENTS

We conduct structural evaluations for BIM and AEC infrastructure projects.

Historically, manned inspection was used to collect data, such as rappelling down a dam and taking photos, notes, and sketches.

In cases where remote evaluation is required, small drones combined with terrestrial LIDAR (light detection and ranging) scanning are used to collect high-definition images and point cloud data. Instead of individual measurements, the reality capture of the structure provides a valuable tool for condition assessment. The collected data can be converted into 3D models that can be shared with most 3D software. one can also use the data to monitor structural performance by conducting multiple surveys over time. Using a systematic approach for the survey improves the survey's delivery quality and timeliness.

CLASH DETECTION

Clash detection is a component of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process involving automated and computerized detection of conflicts or clashes, whether structural or MEP. Clash detection can be performed on multiple 3D models and is a valuable tool for designers, architects, builders, engineers, and contractors to determine clashes or conflicts in structures.

Clash detection is aided by comparing point cloud data with plans to identify variances earlier, reducing the need for rework. Companies can demonstrate contractual compliance, and the quality of construction projects improves.

UAV / DRONE INTEGRATION

When faced with the task of laser scanning fields, trails, rivers or any large area, it quickly becomes apparent that an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is perfect for the job. Drones are a cost-effective alternative to using a helicopter, and their low altitude provides incredible detail. . Thanks to their centimeter-level accuracy there are already many applications for drone mapping.

QUANTITY TAKE-OFF

Explaining what a quantity takeoff is in construction is relatively straightforward. Essentially, a quantity takeoff refers to estimating materials. You review the project plans and take off information about what physical materials the architect, engineer or draftsperson specifies to assemble the project.
